Tishman Speyer Announces Henkel As The Latest MNC Tenant For The Springs
Tishman Speyer, leading developer, owner, operator, and asset manager of first-class real estate worldwide, has today announced that Henkel, a global leader in consumer and industrial brands and technologies, will establish a new Management Center at its landmark Shanghai project, The Springs.、
Nike became the first major international blue chip tenant to sign a long-term lease agreement and locate its Greater China Headquarters at The Springs. “We continue to attract prominent MNCs to this flagship project in China”, said Ryan Botjer, Senior Managing Director and Head of Tishman Speyer China. “We welcome Henkel to The Springs and look forward to a strong and long-term partnership as we watch the development of this exciting new urban hub.”
According to Henkel, more than 540 employees will eventually relocate to the new Henkel facility, which is scheduled to open its doors in January 2015.
Michelle Cheung, President of Henkel Asia-Pacific, said, “This move is an important part of Henkel’s long-term strategic vision. To ensure that we continue to grow and expand in China, an important production and innovation base for Henkel’s emerging markets, we need to provide our employees an excellent working environment that allows them to succeed. We conducted a thorough study into how to best position our offices for long term success, and The Springs was chosen as the perfect location to cater for our growing capacity requirements, while at the same time providing employees with an excellent working environment.”
The Springs, a mixed-use development, is Tishman Speyer’s largest project in China and integrates LEED Gold standard commercial development with sustainable residential housing to create a full-service community. It is located in one of Shanghai’s most important up-and-coming areas, New Jiangwan Town.
